These vineyards are situated on an Easterly slope against the majestic Franschhoek mountain. Soil classification - Clovelly.
A well balanced red wine vintage. The grapes reached optimum ripeness with ease, and the balance between yield and growth needed minimal interference.
The best quality grapes were selected, gently pressed and fermented in half-ton open-top fermenters. The grapes were punched down by hand six times a day and fermented until dry. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel and was matured for 12 months in second-fill French and American oak to produce a well-integrated, complex profile.

Residual Sugar: 2.3 g/l
The 2013 Merlot/Shiraz blend was fermented in small open-top fermenters and matured for 15 months in small French and American barrels. This has produced an opulent fruit-driven wine smooth, subtle tannins and explosive, ripe berry flavours.
