GlenWood’s decision last year to establish a gourmet sushi restaurant on the wine farm has been met with great success. Not only is the sushi world-class in its own right, but when complemented by GlenWood’s excellent wines, in their beautiful location, this is a winning combination.
GlenWood’s Master Sushi Chef, Lungani Ntuli, has been a chef for twenty years, and has a passion for seafood with great respect for it as an ingredient. Lungani was mentored for the majority of this time by the celebrated chef Arata Koga who was one of the first Japanese chefs to introduce sushi to South Africa. Together they opened three gourmet sushi restaurants with GlenWood now being his fourth!
Lungani’s specialities include; the Crunch Bomb Roll, this roll is made up of prawn tempura and avo on the inside, topped with fresh, seared Tuna, a sweet soy sauce and tempura crumbs. The Hot Night Roll is another specialty dish of spiced Tuna on the inside, topped with a panko shrimp and spicy, sweet chilli mayo.
